Aurora Drift
A wall-mounted sculptural relief carved from MDF and finished with an iridescent surface.
Aurora Drift captures the sensation of movement suspended in time. The flowing form resembles a ribbon of liquid or fabric caught mid-current, its undulating folds stretching vertically across the wall. A narrow passage between two broader shapes creates a moment of tension, as though the surface is being gently pulled and shaped by an invisible force.
Finished in a luminous blue with subtle colour shifts, the surface responds to changing light, revealing gradients of teal, violet, and soft green that echo the atmospheric glow of the aurora. These shifting tones move across the ridges and valleys of the form, emphasizing the sense of fluid motion and depth.
Though carved from rigid material, the piece evokes softness and flow, blurring the boundary between solid structure and the illusion of liquid movement. Aurora Drift invites the viewer to experience stillness within motion — a frozen moment of energy, light, and gravity.
